there is this drug problem that most of the robots in this world have. it is not any particular drug nor is it necessary to name the drugs. i just think it lends some way to empathize with robots. beepo’s mustache twitches when he snorts things.

beepo and a lot of the robots in this world use drugs to deal with their odd and often obsolete existences in this surreal world.
Beepo is unable to curse as his blueprints specified that his expletives were limited to things like "Linguine!!" by his Japanese manufacturers. Here he is sleep mode, and recharging. He is dreaming about being able to curse. That is some random passerby robot. Perhaps he is literally a Movie-Extra Bot designed by a joint effort between Warner Brothers Studios and Honda.
I like the idea of Beepo being able to dream because it adds a Pinocchio element to his character. I think in his dream he is pestered and inconvenienced so many times and all he can say is "Linguine" and then he finally explodes in this way because this passerby does some tiny little thing.
More concept art for Beepo’s world. Yes, yes, we all know where the pipes are from. But I like to think of them as more of a metaphor for the trust you sometimes put into things that ultimately lead you like a horse with blinders on to futility. They sort of never take him where he wants or needs to be.
Beepo can’t curse of course, but that’s what he’s thinking. Note: the makers of this Italian plumbing robot (most likely the Japanese) went to the trouble of including a plumber’s butt feature.
